The Chippers Top 5
Predictions for Week 7:
Washington Redskins (3–3) @ New York Giants (4-2)
The Redskins have a lot going for them, but the Giants are years ahead on offense and infinitely scarier on defense. Could this be a Giants letdown from their win against SF last week? The Redskins offense is playing well but the pass rush of the G-Men will open up rushing lanes for Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris. Eli to the rescue once again.
Prediction: Giants 24 Redskins 23
Baltimore Ravens (5-1) @ Houston Texans (5-1)
If the Ravens were healthy they would have a great shot at taking down the Texans. They’re catching the Texans ticked off after losing their first game against GB last week. This week they get back to pounding the football. That will help keep the ball away from Joe Flacco, Ray Rice and the Ravens offense.
Prediction: Texans 35 Ravens 24
Arizona Cardinals (4-2) @ Minnesota Vikings (4-2)
John Skelton, Kevin Kolb…who cares? Neither one is any good, and the Vikings have a tough defense. Adrian Peterson will open things up for Christian Ponder against a tough Cardinals secondary. Arizona has started to slide down and it’s no easier this week. The Cardinals offensive hods this team back.
Prediction: Vikings 21 Cardinals 6
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) @ Oakland Raiders (1-4)
Oakland was minutes away from pulling off a major upset in Atlanta until Carson Palmer threw a horrible interception. This week, Palmer won’t be asked to lead a last-minute drive to win, mostly because the Raiders will have the game well in hand by the fourth quarter.
Prediction: Raiders 37 Jaguars 10
New Orleans Saints (1-4) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3)
Neither team will be able to stop the other. I see this game as an offensive onslaught. Because of that, I’ll take Drew Brees and the Saints over Josh Freeman and the Bucs any day.
Prediction: Saints 45 Buccaneers 28
