Recap of Week # 7:

Prediction:  Giants 24  Redskins  23  Win -  RGIII did his best to show he was back and in top form but my boy Eli just said No!  I haven’t seen as quick a release of the ball since Marino played as Griffin has.  He will be great…just not yet.

Prediction:  Texans 35  Ravens 24  Win – Too many injuries on the D side of the Ravens team to overcome.  Houston is by far the most complete team in the AFC.

Prediction:  Vikings  21  Cardinals  6  Win – A Peterson is back with a vengeance for the Vikings and with that improving D, the Vikings will contend for the Black & Blue Division crown with Detroit sinking fast.

Prediction:  Raiders 37  Jaguars 10 Win – Raider Nation is still dancing with this incredible comeback in the Bay.  Jacksonville had them down but couldn’t finish the dance.

Prediction:  Saints  45  Buccaneers  28  Win – The Saints are firing on all cylinders now and with the coaching staff coming back, they will be breathing down the Falcons neck.

Weekly Total:  5 – 0.  Year to Date Record: 23 – 12.

Watch for the Chipper’s Top 5 tomorrow night.

The Chippers Top 5

Predictions for Week 7:

Washington Redskins (3–3) @ New York Giants (4-2)

The Redskins have a lot going for them, but the Giants are years ahead on offense and infinitely scarier on defense. Could this be a Giants letdown from their win against SF last week? The Redskins offense is playing well but the pass rush of the G-Men will open up rushing lanes for Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris.  Eli to the rescue once again.

Prediction:  Giants 24  Redskins  23

Baltimore Ravens (5-1) @ Houston Texans (5-1)

If the Ravens were healthy they would have a great shot at taking down the Texans. They’re catching the Texans ticked off after losing their first game against GB last week.  This week they get back to pounding the football. That will help keep the ball away from Joe Flacco, Ray Rice and the Ravens offense.

Prediction:  Texans 35  Ravens 24

Arizona Cardinals (4-2) @ Minnesota Vikings (4-2)

John Skelton, Kevin Kolb…who cares? Neither one is any good, and the Vikings have a tough defense. Adrian Peterson will open things up for Christian Ponder against a tough Cardinals secondary. Arizona has started to slide down and it’s no easier this week. The Cardinals offensive hods this team back.

Prediction:  Vikings  21  Cardinals  6

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) @ Oakland Raiders (1-4)

Oakland was minutes away from pulling off a major upset in Atlanta until Carson Palmer threw a horrible interception. This week, Palmer won’t be asked to lead a last-minute drive to win, mostly because the Raiders will have the game well in hand by the fourth quarter.

Prediction:  Raiders 37  Jaguars 10

New Orleans Saints (1-4) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3)

Neither team will be able to stop the other. I see this game as an offensive onslaught. Because of that, I’ll take Drew Brees and the Saints over Josh Freeman and the Bucs any day.

Prediction:  Saints  45  Buccaneers  28

Recap of Week # 6:

Eagles  31 Lions 21  Loss – The Defensive Coordinator for the Eagles  isn’t the only one that should have gotten fired after this meltdown against the Lions.  Terrible loss.

Rams 17  Dolphins  14  Loss – Really thought the Rams D would have held the Fish to very little points-certainly enough to pull this one out on the road.

Colts 24  Jets  17  Loss – the “San-Chise”  lives to fight another week in Jersey.  Shouldn’t have gone with a rookie QB on the road…..Lesson learned….

Vikings 20  Redskings 17  Loss – The Skins hounded QB Ponder all day into mistakes and put a solid whoop ass on the Purple People.

Broncos 31  Chargers 30  Win -  Happy Birthday Brian!!!  Thanks Peyton for saving my week!  This loss could possibly have broken the spirit of SD and finally cost the head coach his job.

Weekly Total:  1 – 4.  Year to Date Record:  18 – 12

Week # 5 Recap:

Prediction:  Packers 34  Colts 17  Loss – Andrew Luck looked like a 5 year vet bringing the Colts back to beat a disoriented Packers team.  GB needs to regroup ASAP!

Prediction:  Seahawks 21 Panthers 20  Win – Cam Newton is overrated in case you didn’t know.  The Seahawks defense is for real so watch them as the season progresses.

Prediction:  Patriots 31  Broncos 28 (OT)  Win – No OT, but it sure could have been.  The Broncos need to protect the football.  The 3 fumbles cost them this game.

Prediction:  Saints 35 Chargers 28  Win – In an emotional game with Sean Peyton in the stands, Drew Brees breaks John Unitas’s long standing record of consecutive TD passes in a game with 48 straight!  Congrats Drew and nice win to go with it.

Prediction:  Texans  400  Jets 2  Win – A lot closer game than Houston liked.  This game was two tipped passes away from a Jets victory.  The Texans lose Brian Cushing for the year with a torn ACL.

Weekly Record:  4 – 1.   Year to Date:  17 – 8.  Now we’re Cookin with Gas!!

Chippers Top 5 for Hole # 6 coming tomorrow.  Stay tuned.

The Chippers Top 5

Predictions for Week 5:

Green Bay Packers at Indianapolis Colts

The GB offense is awake now and the Colts are just in the way. Indy doesn’t have the talent to shut the Packer receivers down. Expect a lot of pressure on Colt QB Andrew Luck. An easy game comes at the perfect time for the Pack. Green Bay can’t overlook the Colts, but there’s no way Indianapolis pulls off this upset.

Prediction:  Packers 34  Colts 17

Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers

Panther QB Cam Newton isn’t as good as he was last year, and the Seahawks defense isn’t going make it easy for him. Carolina’s D has disappointed. It’s a long trip for Seattle, but the D is young and hungry. This will be a low-scoring affair.  Seahawk RB Marshawn Lynch should have a decent day. Carolina has the 25th-ranked run defense in the league and can’t stop Lynch.

Prediction:  Seahawks 21 Panthers 20

Denver Broncos at New England Patriots

Denver has owned the Pats of late.  This is the game of the week.  Brady has the edge with the chemistry of his receivers.  Manning has looked better each week and if you watch one game this weekend, be sure to catch this one.  Sorry Arroll and Mercer, but my head has to go with the team that’s home and is playing all around better defense. Peyton is too good to get blown out.

Prediction:  Patriots 31  Broncos 28 (OT)

San Diego Chargers at New Orleans Saints

It’s almost impossible to imagine the Saints at 0-5, especially with a home game coming up. The Chargers have the offensive firepower to keep up with the Saints, but Drew Brees and the home crowd deliver a win (finally).

Prediction:  Saints 35 Chargers 28

Houston Texans at New York Jets

Looks like we can all go to bed at halftime on Monday.  Sorry Bob….

Prediction:  Texans  400  Jets 2

Week # 4 Recap:

Patriots 24 Bills 17  Win -  I didn’t watch this game.  It didn’t matter.  I’m looking forward to this week with Mr. Manning coming to town to bring the Pats fans back to earth as Denver has owned NE over the Brady era.

49ers 24 Jets 13  Win – Embarrassing performance.  The Jets can’t give up on the San-Chise just yet though.  Believe me, Tebow is not the answer!

Packers 33 Saints 27  Win – This was a good game as New Orleans is right on the cusp of winning one.  They’ll get the first W against San Diego this week on Sunday night.

Eagles 27 Giants 21  Win – Nice play calling there Mr. Coughlin.  Just give the damn ball to Eli and let him handle it!

Bears 24 Cowboys 20  Win – The Cowboys are just a weird team to figure out.  A lot of big names on offense.  I guess the O line is the problem.  Give Kyle Orton a chance Mr. Jones!!

Week Total:  5 – 0,  Season to Date:  13 -7  Rev Up those engines!!!

The Chippers Top 5

Predictions for Week 4:

New England Patriots (1 – 2) @ Buffalo Bill (2 – 1)

The Bills offensive line has jelled and the D-line has nine sacks in two games. The Bills running backs are broken and will have a big impact on their balance. This game should be entertaining. The Pats get back on track with a back to basics win in Buffalo.

Prediction:  Patriots 24 Bills 17

San Francisco 49ers (2 -1) @ New York Jets (2 -1)

How will the SF D, coming off a bad loss at Minnesota bounce back?  The Jets have an chance to make a statement against a team most think is the best in the NFC.  The 49ers will take advantage of the loss of Revis with a solid ground game and hope QB Alex Smith makes no mistakes. In a low-scoring, defensive battle, SF will head home with a victory.

Prediction:  49ers 24 Jets 13

New Orleans Saints (0 -3) @ Green Bay Packers (1 -2)

The Saints D has gone down the toilet this year and ranks last. They allowed 275 yards rushing to KC last week at home! QB Drew Brees has to beat the 34 points his D is giving up per game.  After the devastating loss to the Seahawks, I expect Packers to be fired up for this one.

Prediction:  Packers 33 Saints 27

New York Giants (2 – 1) @ Philadelphia Eagles (2 – 1)

Turnovers finally got to Philly in the loss to Arizona. RB LeSean McCoy needs the ball. The Eagle D is playing well but can’t help with the turnover issues. QB Eli Manning looks great even with some of his playmakers hurt.  The Eagles run the ball 40 times and leave the Meadowlands with a surprise victory and no turnovers.

Prediction:  Eagles 27 Giants 21

Chicago Bears (2 – 1) @ Dallas Cowboys (2 – 1)

The Bears have beaten two weak opponents so far, and were thrashed by GB. Dallas was terrific on the road in Week 1 but has been out of sync ever since. Both D’s are very good and the Bears will leave Dallas with a surprise victory.  Two words:  Julius Peppers.

Prediction:  Bears 24 Cowboys 20

Recap of Week # 3:

Prediction:  Bears 24 Rams 23 Win – This was an ugly game and the Bears really have some issues on offense.  This should be an easy pick on Monday nite against Dallas.

Prediction:  Cowboys 34, Buccaneers 24 Win – Tampa was horrible on the offensive side.  The Lingerie League could have fielded a team and beat them.

Prediction:  Saints 35, Chiefs 24 Loss – Who Dat??  The Aint’s are back!  It doesn’t get any easier this week going to the not so frozen tundra to face a pissed-off Packers team! Ouch!

Prediction:  Chargers 31, Falcons 30 Loss – The Chargers really laid down on this one. The Falcons are good but not that good.

Prediction:  Ravens 34, Patriots 17 Win – Thanks Refs!

Weekly total:  3 -2  Season to Date:  8 -7

The Chippers Top 5

Predictions for Week 3:

St Louis Rams (1-1) @ Chicago Bears (1-1)

The Rams are better than most think.  Still the Bears are at home and with the whoopin they took you would think that they worked on the O Line issues. The Rams D is young but they have a decent pass rush that could open the wound from last week.  This game will be close with the home team getting the win.

Prediction:  Bears 24 Rams 23

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) @ Dallas Cowboys (1-1)

In most games this season, The Cowboys got punched in the face by the Seahawks last week and they should have won that game going away as they have superior talent. The Bucs may still be reeling after a demoralizing fourth-quarter loss in New York. The Cowboys have to get back on track in the home opener and because of that, Dallas will win this game decisively.

Prediction:  Cowboys 34, Buccaneers 24

Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) at New Orleans Saints (0-2)

Across the board the Saints are better offensively, and the Chiefs defensive personnel is better at every level. Both teams are playing horrific defense, but the Saints are better equipped to take advantage of the matchup. At home, New Orleans finally gets back on track.

Prediction:  Saints 35, Chiefs 24

Atlanta Falcons (2-0) at San Diego Chargers (2-0)

The Bolts are flying under the radar. Philip Rivers is not making mistakes and the SD defense has looked awfully good through two weeks. Matt Ryan is the most consistent so far this year, but there’s something different about this Chargers team. In the matchup of the week SD goes to 3-0.

Prediction:  Chargers 31, Falcons 30

New England Patriots (1-1) at Baltimore Ravens (1-1)

The Cardinals? Really?  This is where you get to see what Brady and Belicek are made of because the Ravens will be lacing ‘em up and hittin anything that moves.  Both teams need a bounce-back performance. The Ravens look in better sync and clearly have more talent on both sides and of course Ray Rice.

Prediction:  Ravens 34, Patriots 17
