NO THURSDAY GAME THIS WEEK!! COME BACK TOMORROW NIGHT FOR THE CHIPPERS TOP 5 AND THE HOLE # 15 RECAP -
|
Evening PigSkinners –
Well that hole was playing like a 274 yard up – hill par 3 into the wind!! There were a couple of decent scores and but the best was 5 of you with a par! Needless to say, there weren’t any 6-Pack Winners this week either. On to Hole # 15 – an interesting par 4 that looks like it could be just as difficult as the last hole was. You guys are pros so I’m sure there’ll be some decent numbers put up. Reminder to those playing that you can update your time zone by logging in and on the dashboard, click “edit” on your profile. Then click the dropdown box and choose the TZ you’re in…Wallah – you don’t need to worry about what part of the world you’re in cause the games will show the start times relevant to where you live. THURSDAY GAME !!! Don’t forget to pick this as it can mean the difference in winning and not – I see that the 3 remaining Survivor Entrants barely squeaked by with the pick of Seattle!!! Nice pick by the way.
Good Luck to you this week and stay out of the hazards!
Brian
I hope that you’re enjoying this year’s round of PigSkinGolf and are spreading the word about this truly unique game and fun way to win some good cash!
Sorry to say that there weren’t any winners on the 13th hole - also, we’re down to only 3 entries left on the $1,000 2nd Chance PSG Survivor Pool Contest. I bet the two of you that had Dallas were sweatin it out. There’s very little chance that someone is going to win the $1,000 so because I’m in the Holiday spirit, I’m offering $100 to each of the remaining entries right now and the Survivor game will be over. I’ll give you until the deadline on Thursday the 6th to let me know….That’s right – a guarenteed $100 in your pocket or risk the next four weeks and possibly make a wrong choice and get what the little boy shot at and hit – Nothin!!….Good luck!!
It’s the 14th Hole coming up and it’s a medium par 4 that doesn’t look very challenging. I’m sure the scores will be low this week. Pay attention to the Monday Nite Game (Houston @ NE) because those games are used in the tie-breaking calculations for prizes.
Another Thursday Night Game and that means the deadline for that game only is 7:00 Central, 8:00 Eastern. The rest of the games are at Noon Central, 1:00 Eastern on Sunday. That includes the Sunday and Monday Night games.
Before the 18th Hole, I’ll be sending out a survey to everyone who signed up this year to get your valuable feedback on various topics. Your input really drives how this game looks and plays. I’ve used numerous ideas from you the players over the last couple of years so I encourage you to participate. I’m thinking that a couple of random participants may win an entry for next year so be watching for the survey from Survey Monkey.
That’s it for now…..keep it in short grass and Good Luck!!
Brian
Hole # 12 is in the books and we had a total of 6 more 6 – Pack weekly $50 winners! On the White Tee: pigskinpauly and weaversfive. On the Blue Tee: Eagle, mykasd, Riley and wyliej87. We’re also at the end of the 2nd 6 holes and that means 1st through 3rd place on holes # 7 – 12 get some cabbage too. They are: White Tee: 1st place goes to SlapShot $125. 2nd place goes to WINNING!!!! $100 and 3rd place goes to broncofan $75. The tie breaker system came into play on the 2nd & 3rd place money. Winners on the Blue Tee are: 1st place goes to wyliej87 $250. 2nd place goes to Millertime $200 and 3rd place goes to Abacoa22 $150. The tie-breaking system played into this battle too as the Monday Night success was looked at. Abacoa22 had 9 right and mcsmarty had 8 MNF games picked correctly. Those games are critical as you have seen.
There’s a dandy of a Thursday Night game this week so be sure to pay attention to the deadlines which are posted here and on The Bulletin Box (home page of PSG website). Make your pick by 7 pm central, 8 pm eastern. Pick the rest of the games by 12 pm central, 1 pm eastern.
All 4 remaining entries in the 2nd Chance PSG Survivor Pool have made it through week #12!! Will you folks please miss already!!!
Hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving. Good luck on the 13th hole.

Apparently that was a pretty easy hole. The average score of those playing was an amazing 3.4 on a par 4! There’s a long list of awards, so here it is:
First off, there were 4 players who scored a perfect 14 out of 14 and won $500 each and they are: (White Tee) ArubaCaz, bfairweather and jets2436. (Blue Tee) Abacoa22. Well done!!
Then there were 7 winners of the weekly $50 PSG 6-Pack and they are: (White Tee) ArubaCaz, bfairweather, fogdoctor, jets2436, Matty and VegasAvalanche. (Blue Tee) Abacoa22.
The checks will be in the mail by the end of the week. CONGRATULATIONS to all of you and well done!!!
REMINDER OF THE THURSDAY GAMES ON TURKEY DAY: There are 3 games to pick on Thursday and the deadline for the 3 is 11:00 am Central and 12:00 pm Eastern Time. Don’t forget!!
Congratulations to the 4 remaining entries in the PSG 2nd Chance Survivor Pool. They all made it through another week (2 of you by the skin of your teeth). The deadline is the same as above.
Good Luck to all of you this weekend as we get back to the full 16 game schedule.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families and thank you for playing PigSkinGolf.
Brian
Okay – Hole # 11 is under way and you probably noticed that the tie game from last week issue has been resolved and all scoring has been updated. Just a couple of you may have been affected by the extra loss or extra win but mostly, it was a non-issue.
Congrats again to bfairweather on the White Tee for his weekly 6-Pack $50 victory!
There’s a bunch of Quarterback issues going into this weekend, so check out the “News” button and get all the up-to-date info on your team and players. This is a great place to get info for any fantasy leagues that you may be in too!
Good Luck this weekend as this is a longer par 4, so the tee shot is key – keep it in the short grass!
Hole # 10 is in the books, well – on the scorecard (well almost ). As For the Onions: As you know by now, there was a tie game this past weekend between the 49ers and Rams. It ended after overtime at 24 – 24. This is the first tie game in the NFL since 2008. We here at PigSkinGolf didn’t plan on this happening anytime soon, so the game’s scoring didn’t take a tie game into account. It is being addressed as this is typed. The Rules of PigSkinGolf are clear:
If any NFL game ends in a tie, the result of your pick for either team will be an incorrect pick.
Consequently, for both the regular PigSkinGolf game and the PigSkinGolf Survivor Game, if either San Francisco or St Louis was your choice, the pick will be counted as an incorrect choice for scoring. The results you see now will ultimately be adjusted sometime in the next 24 hours.
We are sorry for any confusion, but ask for your understanding and patience.
And now the Flowers: Regardless of the way the scores are adjusted, there still remains a lucky participant in Hole # 10’s PSG 6-Pack! Congratulations go to bfairweather on the White Tee for getting all 6 games correct and pocketing the $50 Prize!!
Congrats also go out to the 4 ( a 5th player chose SF and unfortunately will be eliminated by rule) remaining Survivor Pool players! So far it’s been a pretty good run and we wish you luck the rest of the way. Remember, you must make a correct pick all the way through the 17th week of the regular season in order to be eligible for any prize money.
There’s a Thursday Night Game this week so be mindful of the deadlines for making your picks. The Survivor Pool players need to have their pick in before the deadline of the Thursday Night Game this week. The deadline is listed next to the game on the “View/Change My Picks” page.
That’s it for now, thanks for playing and watch for the Chipper’s Top 5 coming tomorrow night –
Hit ‘em straight and go Broncos!
Brian
Alright – that wraps up the Back 9 and it looked as if this hole was going to be an easy one like the 7th was. On the White Tee, there is a heck of a battle brewing with 31 players within 1 to 6 shots off the lead. On the Blue Tee, it’s anybody’s to win with a lot of golf to play. Although there were great scores on the 9th, ( two players got Eagles with 13 of 14 correct picks), the average correct number of picks was only 10.29 with the average score on the par 5 turning out to be 5.49! Remember that the Monday game figures into the tie-breaking system so pay attention to that one.
Congratulations go to SlapShot for winning his second PSG 6-Pack prize of $50 in the last 3 holes! Keep up the good pickin SlapShot! The check is in the mail…
As for the PSG 2nd Chance Survivor Game, the remaining number of entries holds at 7 through the ninth hole. It’s gonna get tougher down the stretch so good luck to you!
Admin: Thursday Night Game again this week, so watch the deadlines for the games. Reminder: Survivor deadline is 7:00 pm Central Time on Thursday and the Regular PSG Game deadline is the one game on Thursday, then for the rest of the games, including the Sunday and Monday Night, the deadline is 12:00 Central Time. Don’t forget. There’s been a number of players miss the deadline and ask why they can’t make their picks. It’s all on you.
The Hole # 10 PSG 6-Pack is up on the site now and the Chipper’s Top 5 Recap for Hole # 9 is coming.
Good Luck on the Back 9 and keep it in the short grass -
Ok, that hole was more like what we’ve seen so far this round. Pretty tough pin placement on that one. No 6 Pack winners this week. One player had 5 of the 6 but no cigar!
Just a reminder about making your picks – It is the responsibility of the players to make sure that all of your picks have successfully been entered before the deadline each week. Changing of picks or requests to enter picks after the deadline will not be granted.
That being said, there is a Thursday Night game again this week and the deadline is 7:00 pm CST. This is also the deadline for those that are still alive in the 2nd Chance PSG Survivor Pool. The Survivor picks must be made prior to the Thursday Night game deadline.
Good luck this week and here’s a picture of one of the two lucky winners that scored a Hole in One last week and snagged the $500 Prize!
The Superintendant and I have both agreed that the Par 4 7th hole at PigSkin National Golf Course will be lengthened by some 100 yards to prevent the massacre that just happened! I don’t recall the scoring on a single hole being so good. The average score on #7 was an incredible 3.85!
Well – Where do I start with the accolades. Here we go: A standing ovation is in order for both WINNING!!! and VegasAvalanche on the White Tee for scoring the rounds first PERFECT WEEK! Each has won $500 for their efforts! They both also scored an Ace or 3 under on the hole! I also gotta give kudos to another 5 winners of the weekly PigSkinGolf 6-Pack contest. The winners of $50 each are all on the White Tee and they are: Beau, mkomara412, SlapShot, VegasAvalanche and of course WINNING!!!. If you folks could send me an email to give me an updated mailing address, I’ll get those checks in the mail asap.
Some statistics for Hole # 7: There were 49 players who scored a 4 or better. Of those 49, 32 scored under par with 13 getting an Eagle and the two above who threw in a Hole In One!
You’ll notice that there are some differences in the layout of the PSG Website. The crack IT Department has rearranged some of the parts and flopped the Leaderboards on the right side. The “2nd 6 Hole” Board is on top now to showcase the standings of the 7th through 12th hole scoring. The Board on the bottom right is showing the overall standings of the entire round to date.
There are only 9 entries left standing now on the 2nd Chance PSG Survivor Pool. We’re getting pretty deep into this so I’ll start to see some of you sweat a little going forward. Good Luck to you all.
A little game picking admin: Please understand the following as it relates to the cut-off times for making your picks. For the Survivor Game, you must make your selection for the week prior to the 1st game (usually Thursday Night) on the schedule. If you don’t – you’re out! The cut-off time will be approximately 20-30 minutes before kick-off. The time will be shown on the list of games to be played on the “View/Change My Picks” page. For the players in the regular PSG game, please make a note of the cut-off times for the rest of the games on the schedule. Sunday and Monday Night games will normally have the same cut-off time as the first games on Sunday. This is done so that when the deadline hits, everyone can click on the “Compare All Picks” button to see everybodys picks for the week. If you have any questions, please drop me a line.
Good Luck on the 8th hole and after that scoring barrage on #7, don’t get too cocky!!
