The Chipper’s Top 5

Results for Hole # 18 Super Bowl LII:

Prediction:  Patriots 27, Eagles 24 – Loss

The Pats actually had the lead in this classic game.  As I talked about, the New England defense had all it could handle and didn’t get the job done.  The mystery of why DB Malcolm Butler didn’t play a single defensive play will come out eventually, but I believe that was a factor.  Good Nick Foles came to play and with only one punt for the Eagles, he helped to convert 10 of 16 third downs and 2 of 2 on fourth down to crush the Pats defense.  Both teams tried trick plays on passes to the QB with Philly being successful and getting a TD to boot!  There was only one sack recorded and it was the difference maker in the game as Brady was stripped of the ball and Philly covered it up as the game wound down.  It was a record setting game in multiple categories and was fun to watch from start to finish.

Results for Week # 14:

Prediction:  Texans 24, Jaguars 20 LossHave a stroke and lose your job…that’s a tough couple of weeks for the ex head coach Kubiak as the Texans keep the losing streak alive.

Prediction:  Buccaneers 30, Bills 17 WinAll is good in Tampa as the Bucs win their 4th game in the last 5.  Looks like head coach Greg Schianno may save his job after an 0 – 8 start.

Prediction:  Bengals 27, Colts 21 WinCincinnati looks to be peaking at just the right time with a slapping of the Colts.  Andrew Luck is just not enough.

Prediction:  Raiders 5, Jets 1 LossHow did the Airplanes put up 37 points???  Geno Smith settled down after a first half interception to play mistake free for the win.

Prediction:  Giants 35, Powder Blues 27 Loss: The G-Men (?) were eliminated from the playoffs as Eli tosses 2 more interceptions in Southern Cal.

Record for the week:  2 – 3.  YTD  42– 28 – 1

Results for Week # 13:

Prediction:  Ravens 17, Steelers 13 Win:  Big Ben gave it a run there in the end but came up just a little short.

Prediction:  Browns 21, Jaguars 6 Loss:  Jacksonville wins it’s 3 in the last 4 with three on the road!!  They may actually win the 4th in a row against Houston.

Prediction:  Eagles 23, Cardinals 16 Win:  That boy Nick Foles is on fire for the Eagles.  He’ll have to be on his A game with Detroit coming to town.

Prediction:  Broncos 30, Chiefs 20 Win:  When the Buncos got down 21 to 7 I actually thought “they got ‘em where they want them”.  Manning’s pinpoint accuracy in the 2nd half to Decker crushed the Arrowheads.

Prediction:  Seahawks 28, Saints 20 Win:  Wow!!  Seattle will need the mojo it started when it travels south to play in San Fran this weekend.

Record for the week:  4 – 1.  YTD  40– 25 – 1

Results for Week # 12:

Prediction:  Rams 24, Bears 23 Win:  That Tavon Austin dude is the real deal for the Rams.  The Bears put up big offensive #’s but couldn’t put up the points.

Prediction:  Packers 24, Vikings 20 Tie:  The clock ran out as the Vikings squandered a big lead in GB.

Prediction: Chargers 17, Chiefs 13 Win:  Just the opposite of what I thought as these two put up 79 points and almost 900 of total offense combined.  The Chiefs are lucky that the Broncos laid an egg later that night…..

Prediction:  Colts 23, Cardinals 21 Loss:  Are the Cardinals really this good or are the Colts in a funk?

Prediction:  Broncos 45, Patriots 20 Loss:  Where do I start on this one….24 to nothing at half, needless injury right before the half for Denver, give up 31 unanswered points and then the gaff to give pretty boy Brady the ball at the Denver 18 to win it….horrible!!!

Record for the week:  2 – 2 – 1.  YTD  36– 24 – 1

The Chippers Top 5

Predictions for Week 12:

Chicago Bears @ St Louis Rams

Backup Josh McCown has played well for the Bears, but the Rams have had a week to prepare, and Kellen Clemens hasn’t been a slouch either. Tavon Austin and the Rams’ special teams could be the difference.

Prediction:  Rams 24, Bears 23

Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers

Can the Packers get a win without Aaron Rodgers? This would be the week to do it against the Vikings.  Sorry Row…

Prediction:  Packers 24, Vikings 20

San Diego Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs

This will be a close game because since 1992, SD has a 22 – 21 record in KC.  A low scoring game as 25 of 43 times the game has been under on the money line.  SD sneaks in a W as KC is thinking about last week and what could have been….UPSET ALERT!!!!

Prediction: Chargers 17, Chiefs 13

Indianapolis Colts @ Arizona Cardinals

The Colts offense is floundering without Reggie Wayne, and the Cardinals’ defense is legit. Yet,  I believe a whole lot more in Andrew Luck than in Carson Palmer. Colts on the road…

Prediction:  Colts 23, Cardinals 21

Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots

Denver’s defense is playing well enough right now to slow any quarterback, including Tom Brady.  With or without Welker, the Broncos are the best team in the AFC hands down.

Prediction:  Broncos 45, Patriots 20

The Chippers Top 5

Predictions for Week 11:

Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans

The Titans lost to the Jaguars at home….oh boy.

Prediction:  Colts 38, Titans 13

Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles

Washington’s defense is bad. Eagle QB Nick Foles is hot. Philly should score points in bunches.

Prediction:  Eagles 37, Redskins 27

Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The wheels have come off in Atlanta. Even with a healthier Roddy White in the lineup, it’s hard to think that the Falcons will put up enough points to win on the road.

Prediction:  Buccaneers 24, Falcons 20

Green Bay Packers @ New York Giants

It’s easy to say that the Packers would struggle on offense without Aaron Rodgers, but where did the Green Bay defense go? The Giants should control the clock and get the W.

Prediction:  Giants 28, Packers 14

San Francisco 49ers @ New Orleans Saints

Repeat after me: The Saints don’t lose at home. The 49ers are still trying to figure out what happened last week against Carolina.

Prediction:  Saints 27, 49ers 20

The Chippers Top 5

Predictions for Week 10:

Philadelphia Eagles @ Green Bay Packers

The Pack are in trouble with the massive injuries on both sides of the ball.  The big game from Nick Foles last week will give the Birds the confidence they need to win in Lambeau.

Prediction:  Eagles 34, Packers 20

Buffalo Bills @ Pittsburg Steelers

The Bills are quietly building a good running game and that’s the Steelers big defensive weakness.  Buffalo can get to the passer so Big Ben needs to get the ball out of his hands much quicker.  It’ll be a struggle, but Pitt gets the W.

Prediction:  Steelers 28, Bills 27

Seattle Seahawks @ Atlanta Falcons

What Seattle team is going to show in Georgia?  The Falcons can’t really be this bad can they?  I thought Joe Flacco was laughing on his way to the bank but I guess he’s strolling down the street with Matty Ice….Seattle has struggled too much and this is a big road trip.

Prediction:  Falcons 27, Seahawks 24

Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers

The Chargers are in their 2nd half swoon and Doctor Manning performs a successful operation coming off the bye week.

Prediction:  Broncos 42, Chargers 30

Dallas Cowboys @ New Orleans Saints

The Saints get a couple of offensive weapons back and run it up as Fat Rob Ryan gets a little revenge on the shapeless Cowboys.

Prediction:  Saints 38, Cowboys 17
